What is Trademark Renewal?

Trademark Renewal is the process of extending the validity of your registered trademark. In India, a trademark is valid for 10 years from the date of application. To maintain your trademark rights, you must renew it before expiry.

Important: If you fail to renew, your trademark will be removed from the Register, and anyone can apply to register your brand name!

When Should You Renew?

6 Months Before Expiry

You can file for renewal up to 6 months before your trademark expires.

Within 6 Months After Expiry

Late renewal possible with additional surcharge of ₹4,500.

Restoration (6-12 Months)

If missed, restoration is possible within 6-12 months after expiry.

After 12 Months

Trademark is removed from register. Fresh application needed.
