How long does trademark registration take?

The complete trademark registration process typically takes 12-18 months. However, you get TM™ status immediately after filing, which provides protection during the registration process.

What is the difference between ™ and ®?

™ (trademark symbol) can be used immediately after filing an application. ® (registered trademark symbol) can only be used after the trademark is officially registered by the Registry.

Can I register a trademark in multiple classes?

Yes, you can file a multi-class application or separate applications for each class. Each class requires separate government fees. There are 45 classes in total - 34 for goods and 11 for services.

What happens if my trademark gets objected?

If the examiner raises objections, you need to file a response within 30 days. Our Standard and Premium packages include objection handling. Common objections are related to similarity with existing marks or lack of distinctiveness.

Is trademark registration valid throughout India?

Yes, once registered, your trademark is valid and protected throughout India. For international protection, you need to file in respective countries or use the Madrid Protocol for multiple country filings.
